
Rivertown Paint Out
Calling all artists! Rivertown Arts Foundation, located in Downtown Washington, MO,
is hosting a RIVERTOWN PAINT OUT along the Missouri riverfront and historic downtown!
Capture the fall season at its best - autumn light and rich fall colors will set the stage
for beautiful scenes to paint and sketch.
Event Overview
Date of Event: Saturday, October 24, 2026 (Rain Date: Sunday, October 25, 2026)
Location: Liberty Hall Cultural Center, 8 W 2nd Street, Washington, MO
Registration
Participation in the Rivertown Paint Out is open to all artists (there are two categories: Age 18 & over, and Youth Under 18 )

Artist Fee: $25 ($35 day of paint out). Fees are non-refunable and non-transferable.

This is a registered-artist-only event. Only artists who have registered in advance or the day of the paint out may participate; not open to non-registered individuals.

Artists agree to allow Rivertown Arts Foundation to use images of artwork created during the Paint Out event to promote the gallery exhibit at Liberty Hall Cultural Center.
Hours of Operation & Check-in
Artist Check-in: 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Painting Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Materials
Artwork materials MUST be stamped at Artist Check-in prior to starting work.

All materials and equipment needed to create artwork must be supplied or brought by the artist.

Standard size canvases, paper, or panel - 5"x 7" to 16"x 20".

Artwork entered must be framed or ready to hang with a WIRE hanger (NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS permitted).

Registered artists may paint, after check-in, until no later than 3 PM
Rivertown Paint Out Guidelines
Artwork must be created on-site, on a Rivertown Arts stamped canvas, paper, or panel.
Liability
Regardless of cause, the artist agrees to bear all risk and expense for any loss, theft and / or damage to their artwork or other personal property or injury to their person. The artist agrees to be responsible for insuring their artwork, if so desired.
Exhibition Guidelines

Two (2) works may be submitted for exhibition. However, space may determine adding additional or limiting works to one piece.

Artwork must be turned in at the end of the day (3:00 PM) to Liberty Hall at 8 W 2nd Street, Washington, MO 63090.

Artists will be asked to take a brief break away from Liberty Hall until 6:00 PM. At 6:00 PM the doors will reopen for the Rivertown Paint Out Exhibition that will be open to the public to view and / or purchase.

Artist will receive 80% of sales from artwork sold during the exhibition. Rivertown Arts Foundation receives 20% commission.

Youth Awards
The awards presentation for the Rivertown Paint Out will take place during the opening reception at
Liberty Hall Cultural Center
at 6:00 PM.
If an award-winning artist cannot attend, their prize will be mailed to them.
Artwork Pick Up
Artists must pick up their artwork at Liberty Hall Cultural Center Sunday, October 25 between 11 AM and 4 PM. If an artist cannot pick up their artwork, please make arrangements with director@rivertownarts.org.
