Who is organizing this Youth Art Show? The local Rivertown Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is creating this show in partnership with Liberty Hall Cultural Center. Our goal is to inspire creativity in young artists and offer meaningful connections with professional artists and our community.

Can anyone enter their art? This Youth Art Show is a juried art show, which means a panel of judges will select artwork for display based on quality, skill and specific criteria. Local young artists will be invited to submit images and descriptions of their art for consideration to be included.

Who can apply to be included in the Youth Art Show? Students in grades K-12 in the boundaries of the School District of Washington will be invited to submit their art this first year. The hope is to gently expand to outlying communities in the future. Students who attend public, private and home schools all are invited to participate.

When can a student apply to be included? Applications will be accepted online beginning March 1, 2026 and will close March 31. Students, with parent support, will upload images and provide information on their art on this website, RivertownArts.org. Students selected to be included will be notified by May 1.

When is the Youth Art Show? The Rivertown Arts Foundation Youth Art Show will be held during Downtown Washington’s Art Fair & Wine Fest, May 15-17. A private opening reception for the student artists and local professional artists will be held on Thursday, May 14.

Will there be prizes? The reward of this Youth Art Show is being selected to participate. Student artists will receive a certificate of selection, the opportunity to share their work with the community, and the chance to meet and engage with professional artists for inspiration and encouragement.

Where will the art show be held? The Youth Art Show will be held in the Liberty Hall Cultural Center, 8 W. 2nd Street, in Downtown Washington. Liberty Hall’s mission is to foster an environment that celebrates innovation, supports local talent and cultivates a thriving community where business and the arts come together to inspire growth and connection.

Who is sponsoring this event? Our list of supporters is growing, but current benefactors of the Rivertown Art Foundation Youth Art Show include Sunflower Hill Farms, Liberty Hall Cultural Center and the Rivertown Arts Foundation.
